S Register Support
The S registers that the SN3101 supports, and their values, are described in the
table, below:

S0 Number of rings to wait before auto
answering.
0—255 Rings 0
S1 Ring Counter
Specify the current number of rings. S1 is
incremented each time the modem detects
a ring signal on the telephone line. S1 is
cleared when the existing connection is
established, or when it is dropped.

S2 Escape Character
If this value is greater than 127, the escape
process is disabled.

S3 Carriage Return Character
Sets the value of the carriage return
character used when displaying commands
or results.

S4 Line Feed Character
Sets the character recognized as the line
feed when displaying commands or results.
If verbose result code format is in use, the
line feed character is output after the
carriage return character.

S5 Backspace Character
Sets the character recognized as a
backspace. Used to erase the last character
typed on the command line.

S12 Escape Prompt Delay
The amount of time required before and
after an escape sequence (+++) is entered
in order for the modem to transition from
data mode to command mode.

The amount of time that the modem will
delay before taking the action specified by
the AT&Dn command.
